On October 15, 2020, ICF hosted a webinar about the return to travel after COVID-19 and the role of technology in managing this restart successfully. The webinar was hosted by ICF’s senior travel manager, Carmen Smith, with three travel data experts as panelists, including Traxo's Chief Product Officer, Matt Griffin.
The Webinar Panelists:
Dave Lukas, Vice President at Grasp Technologies
Grasp Technologies provides data management, visualization, and payment solution software for the travel industry.
Brian Beard, President at DVI

Matt Griffin, Chief Product Officer at Traxo

The Benefits of Travel Data & Risks of Complacency
During the webinar, the panelists discussed not only the importance of data but also the risks to their companies if they neglect to access and leverage complete travel data. Some of these risks include:
- The inability to provide a quality duty of care for traveling employees
- Inaccurate reporting
- Unsatisfied employees constrained by antiquated travel program policies.
Do you know how to put your travel data to work?
The panelists agreed that more data is always better. With the tools that exist today, including Traxo’s travel data aggregation technology, the data is ready and available for companies to use. However, not all procurement professionals and corporate travel managers have the skills required to leverage that data.
Fortunately, many of today’s data tools make visualization and data export simple.
Opportunities for Improvement Powered by Real-Time Data
Traxo’s Chief Product Officer, Matt Griffin, pointed out that now, during this lull in corporate travel brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, travel managers should decide what’s working and what’s not within their travel programs. He encouraged travel professionals to do research on what access to all of your booking data can do to improve their travel programs.
There are opportunities to enhance travel programs and improve business operations. Without the ability to analyze data in real-time, it can’t be used to keep travelers safe while they’re on the road.
There is value in owning and controlling your company’s data, and even more value in knowing how to put that data to work.
